Luxury destination wedding anniversary celebration
Destination wedding anniversary celebration in Cape Town
From arrival to departure all details were thoughtfully taken care of. Guests were hosted in beautifully appointed boutique hotels within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront for the 3-day 10 year wedding anniversary celebration and were chauffeur driven to each days event.
3-day wedding anniversary celebration
The 3-day luxurious celebration started with an exclusive private welcome dinner at Chefs Warehouse located at Beau Constantia Wine Estate in the Cape Wine lands. Chef and owner Ivor Jones created a bespoke 5-course tasting menu especially for Kweku and Laurie which was paired with both Beau Constantia’s wines and a selection of Kweku and Laurie's favourite South African wines and MCC.
Laurie flew in their favourite DJ from London, DJ Peekay to play a wonderful mix of background music during the champagne arrival and during dinner and the evening kicked off with a bit of light-hearted dancing – a first at Chefs Warehouse!
On Saturday, guests had their morning at leisure to relax and enjoy their boutique hotels spa facilities or to venture further afield to the V&A Waterfront for some shopping or lunch at one of the many on-trend restaurants in Cape Town.
As part of the festivities and to get guests into a celebratory mood, Laurie treated her girlfriends to hair and make-up in the afternoon at the Treehouse Boutique Hotels spa.
A bespoke Moroccan themed anniversary soiree in a private luxury villa in Clifton.
Saturday evening, the main anniversary event was a Moroccan themed soiree hosted at a luxurious villa in Clifton with sweeping ocean views and in sight of the five star Twelve Apostles Hotel where Kweku and Laurie were married.
The magnificently attired & appropriately themed guests, some of whom had custom-made Kaftan’s especially designed for the anniversary celebration were welcomed into the villa by exotically dressed hosts with Moroccan drums beating in the background. After photos at a uniquely styled themed photo area, guests were escorted upstairs to the main anniversary reception where champagne and themed welcome cocktails were served with canapés for sundowners. Our henna artists adorned the guests with intricately painted golden Moroccan themed henna tattoos while The Black Ties one of South Africa’s top bands wooed the crowd with their jazzy blues until sundown.
Starters were served on large Moroccan platters with guests seated at inimitably styled and custom-designed Moroccan lounge pockets which were installed in the villa for the evening.
As the sun set across the ocean, fire dancers set the evening sky alight while striking belly dancers mesmerized guests with their spellbinding swaying to Moroccan beats.
The Moroccan inspired dinner served in four courses was a delicious mixture of Moroccan cuisine blended with chillies especially flown in from Ghana as Ghanaian’s are renowned for their extra hot palette.
After dinner, The Black Ties charmed guests back onto the dance floor , followed by DJ Peekay who had guests dancing under the stars until the early hours of the morning!
