Harrington’s, one of Cape Town’s trendiest bars, was the perfect birthday venue for Kriya’s themed destination birthday celebration. Hailing from Hong Kong, Kriya hosted friends from Hong Kong and South Africa for her birthday party, and she wanted to ensure it was extra special for everyone who made an effort to attend.
For her 40th birthday party, Kriya chose an Alice in Wonderland theme, and we loved bringing this theme to life for her and her international and local guests.

Her Alice in Wonderland-themed 40th birthday party decor emulated the darker undertones of Tim Burton’s classic 2010 re-make. The themed floral arrangements featured dark reds, oranges, purples, and luminescent blues incorporated bird cages, playing cards, and Alice in Wonderland props.

The Alice in Wonderland-themed party decor featured bespoke items like Mad Hatter menu holders, large gilded gold and silver suspended photo frames (perfect for fun photo opportunities!), and many creative props.

Keeping to the fun and quirky Alice in Wonderland theme, guests were treated to themed arrival cocktails with “drink me” tags and delicious canapés and macarons with “eat me” tags. Kriya also has a favourite bakery in Sea Point, and we ordered a range of delicious chocolate cupcakes and magnificently themed biscuits from them.
