Hello, I’m Ursula, Founder of Boutique Events.
With over 20 years in the luxury hospitality, events and travel industries, I am a consummate professional with a passion for creating exceptional weddings and boutique celebrations that are as beautiful as they are memorable. I absolutely love the creative process of working with brides and clients to design and style your dream wedding and milestone celebrations.
A bit about me personally…
I planned my own wedding 15 years ago and loved the process. I also realized at the time that there were few other Wedding Planners focused on the luxury market. Fast forward 3 years later, I left the corporate world to pursue my passion and have never looked back!
I have two daughters who have taught me an infinite amount of much-needed patience. I’ve also learnt that running large companies with big teams is much easier than negotiating with a headstrong tween and a cute munchkin that has mom and dad wrapped around her little finger! Project Managing weddings have become a walk in the park after juggling two children’s jam-packed extramural activities and their budding social lives!
I love freshly brewed coffee in the morning and champagne for every occasion! When I’m not working (I am a bit of a workaholic!) you, can find me in the yoga studio, hiking or trail running!

Hello, I’m Bonnie, and my role is that of Wedding and Event Coordinator.
With a wealth of experience in event planning, I have successfully managed everything from small, intimate birthday celebrations to large-scale conferences involving international travel and complex logistics. My expertise spans coordinating flights from across Africa, securing accommodation, and executing full-scale conferences and multiple events — all within the same weekend. I pride myself on meticulous attention to detail, forward-thinking logistics, and the ability to manage every moving part with precision and care.
A bit about me personally…
My passion for event planning began with organizing my own birthday parties which soon expanded into Friday afternoon office socials, end-of-year functions, and eventually weddings — including my own. What began as plans for a large wedding at home turned into a beautiful, intimate celebration at the Winchester Mansions Hotel in Sea Point. That experience ignited a lifelong love for crafting meaningful, memorable events.Outside of work, I’m a proud mom to three incredible daughters — including a set of twins. Motherhood was my introduction to real-time crisis management, especially with one of my daughters being very ill in infancy. Balancing a busy household and career taught me the importance of planning for every possible scenario — a mindset I bring into every event I organize.I also have a love for great coffee and a glass of bubbles — which makes partnering with Ursula an absolute joy. Together, we’re passionate about helping our clients create unforgettable celebrations that reflect their unique vision and style.

Music Festival-themed Birthday Celebration.
Planning a weekend party for 130 people on a barely functioning farm could not be that hard, could it! And it was this naivete; I set about trying to organise my 50th. Thankfully I came to my senses 2 months before the big gig and handed it all over to Ursula. The professionalism that Ursula showed in herding cats was exceptional. I refer to the guest as cats since they could only be described as above-average maintenance. Probably the most important part of the Boutique Events Team was that she really worked hard to make sure that I did not stress and have a good time. They are highly proficient in cursing under their breaths and smiling at the same time. I had such a good time at my own party that I would do it all again on my 51st. Thank Urs and Team for making my dream of my own small music festival, 4 bands, 2 locations, 2 days, and lots of good friends a reality.
