Authentic Italian Themed Pre-Wedding Dinner
A stately private residence was the backdrop for this intimate wedding
A beautiful private home in Franschhoek was the perfect setting for Bonny & Philipp’s intimate multi-day destination wedding with numerous gorgeous venue spaces for each of the couple’s celebrations. Bonny & Philipp love travelling the world together, and part of their global adventures is a love of great food and red wine!
Pre-Wedding Dinner Concept
“Nothing Brings People Together Like Good Food”
Inspired by their Tuscany honeymoon destination, Bonny chose an Italian theme for their first pre-wedding celebration. Their pre-wedding dinner, hosted in the light-filled and airy Conservatory looking onto the majestic landscaped gardens, was perfect for their first night’s welcome Tuscan-style celebration.
We loved creating an authentic Italian-style eatery with interactive live cooking and authentic styling and design details.
Unique Styling & Design Elements
A cheerful and welcoming atmosphere was designed by combining bright yellow elements and terracotta pots mixed with blooming artichokes. Unique design details include; custom-made terracotta-coloured Marie-Antionette dining chairs, the hand-embroidered lemon motif on French linen napkins, lounge pockets with custom lemon cushion covers, central Italian tile runner, authentic Italian crockery from our chefs at Table Seven’s own travels throughout Italy, charcoal grey kitchen counter with marble top for live cooking and multiple strands of hand-threaded lemons, garlic and chilli bouquets and a scattering of large copper pots.
Bespoke Catering
Boutique Events enlisted the dynamic team from Table Seven to curate an entirely bespoke menu in conjunction with our bride. Being an avid food connoisseur, Bonny was intricately involved in designing each celebrations menu with owners Luke and Katie Wonnacott.
The bespoke menu included many delectable dishes inspired by Bonny & Philipp’s favourite Italian meals with a sustainable South African influence using only the freshest, organic, locally sourced ingredients.

An Authentic Italian Experience
Luke Wonnacott hand-rolled all the freshly made pasta in front of the guests and as a surprise for Philipp, Table Seven arranged for Davide from Puglia to hand-pull buratta – one of his favourite dishes. Table Seven prepared home-made Gelato served from an authentic gelato cart. Unique design elements included an Italian café chalk menu board and a smaller chalkboard wine list for the table.
